The Museum of Anthropological Archaeology Collections Department welcomes volunteers—including UM students and members of the public. Volunteers are expected to work a minimum of 4 hours a week, in blocks of at least 2 hours. Some work may be conducted in groups; however, volunteers may also be required to work independently. The Museum is open for volunteer projects from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend hours are available. Space is limited, so please apply early for consideration.
Volunteer opportunities in the Museum’s Collection Department may include: assisting the collections managers with preventive conservation activities, rehousing collections, inventory, database entry, and a variety of other everyday activities vital to the Museum
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete and return the Volunteer Application. Opportunities may also be available to participate in ongoing research projects of Museum curators and affiliated doctoral students. Please contact curators or graduate students directly to inquire about project availability.
The Museum occasionally has short-term employment opportunities available. Please visit the UM Student Employment page for current listings.
