On March 16, please plan to help support the U-M Museum of Anthropological Archaeology. Funds raised on Giving Blueday will support the new James B. Griffin North American Range Fund.
James B. Griffin directed UMMAA (then called the Museum of Anthropology), for 31 years. He continued the Museum’s commitment to scientific fieldwork and research by establishing the Radiocarbon Laboratory in 1950, only the second lab of its kind in the country. In Griffin’s honor, we are raising money for an endowment, which will support the instructional and research activities of the North American range. Once endowed, the range will be renamed the James B. Griffin North American Range.
Robin Beck, associate director and curator of Eastern North American archaeology, talks about how UMMAA will use funds raised on Giving Blueday.
Please give to the cause! Help us rename the North American Range to honor James B. Griffin, and help support students with their archaeological research.
