Natural History and Evolution - EEB 392

Prerequisites: Biology 171 or 195 and 173; prior or concurrent enrollment in Biology 305; or permission of instructor.

Requirements: BS, NS, PitE and EEB lab requirement; fulfills the Evolution class requirement for Biology and EEB.

Course Description

Evolution is the engine driving the amazing biodiversity we see today. This course will focus on evolution as reflected in the natural history of organisms, paying special attention to the flora and fauna of northern Michigan.

You will learn about evolution across a range of timescales and levels of organization. In the process, you will explore animal behavior, population genetics, molecular evolution - and some incredibly beautiful places across northern Michigan.
