Course Description
Many of the most notorious tropical human parasitic diseases (e.g., malaria, swimmer’s itch, hookworm, sleeping sickness) have closely-related sister species that infect Michigan wildlife. This provides us with a unique opportunity to study living models of human parasitic diseases in a field setting.
In this course, you will take an evolutionary and ecological approach to understanding parasites and infectious disease, including treatment and control strategies.
