We are now taking student organization room reservation requests on a case by case basis. 

 

Please note: There will be no weekend building access and therefore no in-person on-campus weekend events in LSA spaces for fall term.  At this time we are still recommending that student organization events be held online whenever possible.

 

In order to request a reserved classroom space for your event please complete the following steps, then complete the room request form (linked below):

2. LSA classroom reservation request checklist

    This checklist must be submitted with your request

3. Provide contact information for the designated person who will be present at the event(s), and who will be ensuring that social distancing rules are enforced:         

    Name and email/phone number

4. All student orgs must keep participant tracking records at their events and maintain the records for 60 days after the event(s).

5. Please note that although food is allowed in the classrooms, you are required to clean up and dispose of all trash at the conclusion of your event. There are no open flames or full catered events allowed in classroom spaces.

It is a requirement when using LSA classroom spaces to adhere to all EHS guidelines for safety and social distancing including:

Participants must have masks at all times indoors.

10 feet distancing encouraged.

No more than 10 people, and follow the Student Life procedures which require they have someone ensuring compliance.  

The buildings close at 10pm. No events go later than 10pm.

No indoor social gatherings over 10

No outdoor social gatherings over 25 

90 minute maximum. 

Any events over 90 minutes will require 144 sq ft per person (at least 12 feet social distancing).

Any events where people plan to move around in the room will require 144 sq ft per person (at least 12 feet social distancing).

Fees for reserved classroom spaces during pandemic conditions

 

Classroom spaces:

$35 per space per daily event

Auditorium spaces:

$75 per space per daily event

Where can the service be used?

Most LSA classrooms are available for reservations and rentals. LSA, however, does reserve the right to group events in particular buildings for health, safety, and building management reasons.

Requesting Service

Student organizations can request room rentals through our LSA Room Reservation Request Form.

These rooms are reserved for orgs for the following fees according to capacity, payable by shortcode:

  • 1–70 — $35
  • 71–150 — $75
  • 150–300 — $150
  • 300+ — $200

If your organization is looking to reserve a large auditorium, you may need to also purchase audio-visual support.

The following classrooms require our staff to operate all installed equipment (AV support will incur an additional service fee):

  • Angell Hall Auds A, B, C, and D 
  • Chemistry 1800 
  • East Hall 1324
  • Lorch Hall 140
  • MLB Auds 2, 3, and 4
  • Chem A859 — Requires Tech Consultation or Support if needed
  • Weis 110/120 — Requires Tech support or Tech Consultation; you must call to discuss with Special Events
  • BSB 1060 — Requires tech support for the duration for any event

    There are separate charges associated with LSA Support Services technician support for the labor time and administrative work. The charges for the room reservation are billed separately from the LSA Support Services technician support charges. Initial consultations are free—once your ticket is submitted they will contact you.

    If you need assistance with any facility issue outside of normal business hours please call the U-M Central F&O Service Center at 734.647.2059.

SOAS Information for Student Orgs

Support Services does not provide FREE ROOMS to student organizations. If looking for a free room through SOAS, please visit the SOAS website.

Info on SOAS free rooms:

  • These rooms can only be reserved using the SOAS Free Rooms Google Calendar.
  • A limited number of free rooms are available for reservation at the beginning of each month.
  • The same room cannot be guaranteed from one month to the next.
  • There is a five-room limit per organization.
  • Free rooms given out on a first-come-first-serve basis.
