This service helps digital scholars identify and get access to the tools and technologies necessary to successfully complete and sustain a digital project. It also provides technology-specific support for platforms that LSA TS hosts.
cPanel
cPanel is a web hosting environment that many commercial vendors use to support running multiple websites on shared servers. Our environment offers a blank canvas for you to create your own site with industry standard HTML, PHP, Perl, Python, and MySQL support.
File and Media Storage
Technology Services works with you to match your file storage needs with the various on- and off-campus solutions provided
FileMaker
LSA Technology Services provides FileMaker Server database hosting for any faculty, staff, or units affiliated with LSA.
GIS (Geographic Information System)
The ArcGIS Enterprise Service provides members of LSA with access to enterprise-level data collaboration, sharing, and management features. The service supports enterprise geodatabases, web services, and distributed geoprocessing or geoanalytics.
Omeka S
Omeka S is a web platform designed for creating digital collections and online exhibits.
WordPress
The multisite network for Faculty, Lab, and Research sites uses the WordPress platform to offer an easily editable, U-M branded website platform for LSA faculty members, their labs and research projects (and more!)
Consultations
We take a human and process oriented approach to project support. This means that we’ll start with questions to help us understand your research or project goals and objectives. From there we’ll learn more about what people should be able to do when they interact with the end result of the project and what sort of “things” that need to be in place for that to happen.
