Josh is a senior systems administrator with over 30 years of experience in industry and academia. His areas of expertise include systems administration, project management, technical writing, and facilitation.
At U-M, his regular job is administering servers for the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA), with a focus on the servers for the web services. He curates and edits the department website in the CMS. He's a member of the Hostmaster team for the lsa.umich.edu domain, the subject matter expert for the knowledge base (KB), and the lead for Technology Services' branding and social media projects. He also coordinates the Infrastructure team's thrice-a-year mid-semester maintenance weekends, inventory management, and extended warranty coverage.

When the teams were renamed in June 2015, Best Practices and Technology became Leveraging Technology. Voices of the Staff created the Alumni Engagement Network Team in June 2020.
Josh was the Desk Editor of SAGEwire during its existence and is a long-time USENIX contributor, having served on six LISA program committees (1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2015) and been an external reader/reviewer for nine more (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2018).
