Thanks to everyone’s participation, nearly 4,000 computers in LSA have successfully transitioned to Windows 10! We are now working on the final 10 percent of computers not already upgraded or identified as exceptions.
Here are some key facts you need to know:
- You must upgrade to Windows 10 or document your exception with LSA Technology Services by January 14, 2020.
- Any computer that has not been upgraded or documented as an exception will lose access to the university public network and WiFi on, or after, January 15, 2020.
- Upgrade exceptions are granted in limited cases where research restrictions necessitate a delay in upgrading to Windows 10. Please reach out to lsait@umich.edu to connect with your regional IT staff to discuss this further.
Contact us before the deadline of January 14, 2020 if you are still running Windows 7 to avoid unexpected interruptions in your computing experience! We will work with you to make a plan for an upgrade that can accommodate your schedule.
