Welcome New LSA Technology Services Staff

Please join us in welcoming the following new staff to LSA and Technology Services!
by Alyssa Longo, Administrative Assistant

Grace Johnson, Learning Spaces Project Manager

Grace joined us after working in LSA Physics where she was the Introductory Physics Course Coordinator. She worked closely with faculty and students to understand the various introductory courses, ensured faculty were placed in appropriate classrooms for their teaching needs, and coordinated disability accommodations for students, among various other tasks that have helped her understand how learning spaces have a significant impact on learning and teaching. Prior to joining the university, she worked in Enrollment Services at Oakland Community College and was a 6th grade science teacher.

Grace will be helping the LSA community through her position by working with faculty to find classrooms that fit their specific teaching requirements and ensuring classrooms have the appropriate accommodations for students. Her experience in teaching, direct faculty support, accommodations, data analysis, course support, and administrative support will help us improve the accuracy of information about learning spaces across LSA. Her love of data will also help us make critical decisions on upgrades, space utilization, and classroom usage.

Grace is most excited to learn more about all of the buildings and classrooms around campus that LSA Technology Services supports. Coming from a single department and now joining a team that supports all of LSA, she is most interested in understanding more how the college works from a larger scale.

Lee Coller, Classroom Services Coordinator

Lee joined us after working ten years at the Michigan Theater. He spent eight years there as the head of front-of-house operations, supervising a staff of 25 employees and numerous volunteers to pilot everyday operations ranging from small movies to sold-out concerts. There are a few LSA Technology Services staff members who share roots at the Michigan Theater and their recommendations led Lee to our organization.

Lee will primarily oversee our students who provide after-hours proactive classroom maintenance. As Classroom Services Coordinator, he will lead a team of student employees in testing and maintaining LSA Technology Services workstations in approximately 300 teaching and learning spaces throughout central campus.

Lee is most excited to have holidays off again after working so long at a place that is open 365 days a year.

Ashley Kennard, Technology Experience Specialist

Ashley joined us after graduating from Washtenaw Community College this past fall. She received an associates degree in web development. She also grew up in the Canton/Plymouth area and has enjoyed living in the Ann Arbor area for the past ten years.

Ashley became a part of our team as a Technology Experience Specialist where she will be assisting staff, faculty, and students with various technology related concerns.

Ashley is most excited about getting to know more of the awesome staff in LSA Technology Services and throughout the university.
