LSA Technology Services' staff are available to support LSA faculty in exploring and planning for their instructional technology projects. This includes assisting faculty with identifying and applying for relevant funding opportunities. LSA Technology Services instructional technology consultants are available to help develop proposals, organize project ideas, refine the grant application, plan project implementation, and create assessment strategies.
There are several different grant and funding opportunities available to all instructional staff in LSA:
- Level I Grants of up to $5,000 are available to LSA faculty members to support creative efforts to use instructional technologies in undergraduate courses.
- Level II Grants of up to $15,000 are available to LSA faculty members and groups of faculty to carry out more substantial and especially innovative undergraduate curricular developments that take advantage of new instructional technologies.
- Teaching Transformed Grants of up to $12,500 are available to LSA faculty members who have little-to-no direct experience using technology in their teaching but are eager to learn and want to explore technology-based pedagogies in transformative ways.
- New Initiatives/New Instruction (NINI) funding is available to LSA faculty and lecturers to foster student success through inclusive teaching practices and innovative teaching methods. Past awards have ranged from $15,000 to $75,000.
On April 19, 26 recipients of LSA Teaching and Learning grants presented at the LSA Grant Showcase to share their grant projects and results. Attendees visited 19 different stations to learn from LSA faculty and lecturers about their experiences with introducing more active and inclusive teaching materials and how they encourage public and community-engaged scholarship.
