LSA IT has started a rolling migration of our departments’ printing solution to a University-wide print server model known as MPrint. As part of the migration to the new service, we will be deploying a software utility called PaperCut and print drivers to all of our LSA IT managed Windows and Mac machines startingMonday, February 12th.
The PaperCut client is a light utility that works with our backend print infrastructure to provide enhanced print services and helpful information to you such as notifying you if you try to print to a printer that has been disabled. The update will be deployed automatically through Software Center on Windows and Managed Software Center on Macs. After the installation has completed, you will notice a green “P” symbol on your taskbar in Windows and menu bar on Macs representing the client is running.
Note: The update does not apply to managed Linux machines and does not require a reboot once installed. Linux users, contact your local region or the service desk with printing questions.
Please contact us if you have any further questions.
