Canva is a free, all-in-one web-based graphic design tool that allows instructors and students to simply design professional looking presentations, posters, social media posts, infographics, and more. Instructors can use Canva to create graphics and images to use in their presentation slides. Students can use Canva to design projects and present content learned in class.  

To get started, create a free account using an email address. Once logged in, Canva has many designs to choose from. Designs include presentation, poster, photo collage, logo, infographic, newsletter, and brochure, just to name a few. After choosing a design, there are an assortment of templates to choose from to get started. After you have chosen your template, personalize it by adding your own images, text, fonts and colors.

Add Text to Your Photos

Make the design your own by adding text or captions to your images. Choose from over 100 fonts to suit your style. Adjust the font size, color, position, and rotation of your words to make your design just the way you want.

Choose From 1 Million+ Stock Photos

Choose from Canva’s library of more than 1 million images and hundreds of free elements. You can even upload your own images straight from your device onto your designs.

Photo Editing

Take your photos to the next level with Canva’s simple photo editor. You can edit your photos using premade filters or get a little more advanced by adjusting brightness, contrast and more with the photo editing tools.

Share & Publish

Share directly to a social media account or save your design to your device to use in a project or presentation.
