AEM Training Online and We Need User Input!

The video support library for AEM is in development and Web Services needs input from LSA web editors.
by Kristin Sumrall, Instructional Designer

Web Services’ AEM training is now available online through Canvas, which offers many advantages. Canvas simplifies the training process and eliminates the waste of printing a 60+ page manual for every new trainee. Web editors will have access to the training “manual” at all times from any device with internet connection, and tech-savvy web editors can train themselves. Canvas also allows any web editor to see the latest version of the training materials.

All AEM website editing staff who trained prior to the introduction of AEM training in Canvas are encouraged to request access by contacting [email protected]. New staff whose duties include updating the AEM websites may register for training. Current staff who are looking to refresh or reinforce their knowledge and abilities are welcome to register for training again.

Our latest endeavor, and one we are very excited about, is our growing library of support videos. These brief tutorials are being produced to accompany the training in Canvas, but have additional goals of streamlining user support and introducing e-learning as an option for individuals who want to forego the in-person training sessions. As updates to AEM continue to roll out there will be a new training program introduced in Canvas with full video supplements.

The AEM course in Canvas also includes an appendix section that explores topics not covered during the two hour hands-on class. Web Services encourages LSA website editing staff to submit suggestions for the appendix section.

User input is valuable to us as we develop and expand our support offerings. If you have suggestions for tutorials to add to the Appendix section in the AEM training on Canvas, or if you would like to see video support for how to carry out a specific task, please engage with us by completing a web form with your ideas.
