Technology Services is aware of an issue affecting unpublishing pages on AEM sites. Editors have reported when unpublishing a specific page it is triggering an accidental unpublishing of other pages (including the homepage). We are currently working with Adobe to investigate and resolve the issue.
In the meantime, there are two ways to avoid this issue.
Unpublish from the Sites Screen (/sites.html)
Whenever possible, use Sites Screen (https://author.lsa.umich.edu/sites.html/). You can navigate directly to the page that you would like to unpublish. Once you select the page, click on “Manage publication”.
From there you can select "Unpublish".
Review the url on the confirmation screen to ensure that it is correct. Before you click on Unpublish.
Double Check Warning Message
If you Unpublish the page in the On Page Editor ( /editor.html), please double-check if the page title is correct on the Unpublish message before clicking Confirm.
If the page title does not match the page being unpublished, then cancel the Unpublish message and refresh the browser. After which, the page title should match the current page, and unpublish will work as expected.
We appreciate your patience as we wait to get a resolution from Adobe soon. We will send an update when this issue has been resolved.
