Are you looking for ways to engage students without technology—no devices, no screens, no slides? Think post-it notes, markers, flip charts, balls, and dice. ISS now has “Active Learning Try It Kits” at our Media Center in MLB and Loan Center in Mason. Each kit includes a guide to help explore ways to design collaborative in-class activities that help students achieve course learning outcomes and develop a deeper understanding of the content.

The no-technology learning strategies are organized by activities that help students activate prior knowledge, engage with content, develop critical thinking skills, and debrief and reflect on their learning. The guide includes a description of each activity, directions, and an example of how each strategy can be used in a college classroom. The kit also contains all the supplies needed for students to engage in hands-on learning activities during class. Reserve one today!
