LSA Instructional Support Services (ISS) invites you to the latest ISS Engaging Ideas session, a panel discussion on transforming writing assignments using media. Our instructor panelists will discuss their experiences designing and implementing media projects such as film poems, virtual persuasive essays, science podcasts for public discourse, and audio visual essays. A variety of disciplines and course types will be represented, from a larger-size STEM course to small English composition classes and an introductory Screen Arts and Culture course. The panel will also include an ISS Media Consultant who will share ideas about media equipment and editing software options as well as best practices for successful media assignments.
Topics the panel will address include:
- the learning goals on which the media assignment focused
- the assignment structure and details
- grading practices and rubrics
- instructor and student support options.
Panelist remarks will be followed by a Q&A session with participants and time for informal mingling. Please join us!
Date and Time: Friday, March 23rd from 1 to 3 pm
