Service Degradation
MiStorage-based services

UPDATE: The majority of service issues have been resolved, however Document Imaging is still experiencing issues. ITS will be providing updates throughout the day on the linked page. If you experience any other issues please reach out to Technology Services. ORIGINAL: ITS reported a Major Incident for the campus MiStorage service on Monday morning August 1 following a higher than expected impact that occured after a scheduled upgrade - see ITS status page for additional details. All LSA faculty, researchers, and staff with MiStorage home (H Drives), shared (S Drives), and/or Research storage shares are highly affected by this incident. Users are seeing the following issues: Computer performance (e.g., slowness) as devices attempt to access storage drives. Significant delays in accessing storage (e.g., inability to navigate into folders, open files). First time login to a device (e.g. new employee) will not be able to add storage shares. Other services we are currently aware of that are experiencing significant degradation / outages due to this MiStorage degradation include: Citrix - seeing impact to Active Directory and Group Policy functionality. Windows Lifecycle Management System/ Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager - inability to deploy software updates & antivirus definitions. Research Museum Center Application Services (e.g., Specify, others) - ability to save, move, delete specimen files. Business Objects - inability to run reports. Document Imaging. Research Proposal Management. MPrint Service - scan to document feature only. M-Marketsite.

Start Time: Mon, 1 Aug 2022 12:30:00 EDT

While LSA Technology Services always attempt to avoid or minimize outages, the Research Computing and Infrastructure (RCI) team has three mid-semester maintenance weekends every year (typically near spring break, Art Fair, and the fall study break). RCI also reserves an 11:00 PM–1:00 AM nightly maintenance window for ad hoc maintenance with advanced warning to the affected audience.
