In February and March 2024, LSA Technology Services' Infrastructure and Security team ran disaster recovery plan (DRP) tabletop exercises for three of its services (its virtual machine environment on day one and our Linux web hosting environment and on-campus data center on day two). In April 2024 we presented what we did and how it was received to the U-M Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Community of Practice (DR/BC COP), and in December 2024 we presented a poster about it at the Michigan Technology Community (MTeC) Winter Innovation Expo (WIE). That poster asked for a QR code pointing to the project web site; here's that destination.
In February 2025 we ran three additional exercises on our build automation systems and our Windows web hosting environment. In March 2025 we ran two additional exercises on our authentication service and storage appliance.
For more information please contact Josh Simon, the lead facilitator for these exercises.
