About
Professor Soderstrom earned her doctorate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and also holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering and environmental engineering from the University of Michigan. She serves as faculty with Organizational Studies and Program in the Environment and has received awards for her dedication to teaching undergraduate students. Her research focuses on sustainable business, in particular how corporations engage with sustainability challenges and how individuals within organizations (including students!) act as change agents for sustainability. Professor Soderstrom teaches the popular courses “Business and the Natural Environment” (ENVIRON 208) and “Sustainability and the Campus” (ENVIRON 391), where students have opportunities to conduct research and undertake project-based learning. Professor Soderstrom has worked with McKinsey & Company and the Auto Club Group, and her first job was in the Markley dining hall! She has three kids, a dog and loves National Parks and U-M athletics.
