The Department of Statistics offers graduate programs leading to a Master's degree in Applied Statistics, which is intended to prepare a student for a career as a professional statistician working in business, government or industry, and a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, which allows for the additional possibility of an academic career.
We also offer a Master's degree in Statistics as an embedded degree for PhD students at the University of Michigan, both in our own department and in other programs.
The Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics jointly oversee a new interdisciplinary Master of Science degree program in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management.
