Adriana is a current doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Michigan. Her research interests revolve around gender inequality in contemporary family forms utilizing a qualitative methods lens. Adriana's dissertation analyzes shared parenting in child custody arrangements and her post-dissertation project explores stepparents. Her work has been awarded by the American Sociological Association.
Adriana earned a master's degree in sociology from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. She has instructed in Sociology, Anthropology, English, and InterGroup Relations. Adriana has also trained and served in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, and she has been recognized as a member of the Bouchet Honor Society.
