U-M Sociology Professor Geneviève Zubrzycki was recently recognized by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) for her latest publication, Resurrecting the Jew: Nationalism, Philosemitism, and Poland's Jewish Revival (Princeton University Press).
Professor Zubrzycki won the Wayne S. Vucinich Book Prize, the highest ASEEES award, for the most important contribution to Russian, Eurasian, and East European studies in any discipline of the humanities or social sciences.
Geneviève Zubrzycki’s 2022 publication presents an in-depth look at Jewish life in Poland today, exploring why non-Jewish Poles are trying to bring Jewish culture back to life in Poland today. Her book is available for purchase at Princeton University Press.
This award also follows Professor Zubrzycki’s recent achievement of receiving the William H. Sewell, Jr. Collegiate Professorship, among the highest honors the college and the university can bestow upon an eminent faculty member.
