Alexandra Murphy, Assistant Professor in Sociology and a Faculty Affiliate of the Population Studies Center at the Institute for Social Research, recently published a paper in Survey Practice. The paper, Validating the Sixteen-Item Transportation Security Index in a Nationally Representative Sample: A Confirmatory Factor Analysis, validates the Transportation Security Index Alex and her colleagues have created on a nationally representative sample.
Earlier this year, Alex and her collaborator Alix Gould-Werth (a PhD alum) responded to President Biden and the Department of Transportation's calls for measures to advance transportation equity making the case for why they should consider using the index.
