2011 Sociology Graduate Student Awards
2010-2011 Katherine Luke Best Paper Award for best paper written by a graduate student is awarded to Jessi Streib for her paper "Cultural Mismatches as Cultural Complements".
2010-2011 Mark Chesler Graduate Research Award for the best paper contributing to our understanding of diversity, social justice, participatory action research, intergroup relations, or service learning is awarded to Erica Blom for her paper "From the Developing World to the West: Transnational Network, Mobilization and Policy Change During the 2004-2005 Plant Breeders' Rights Act Amendments Period."
2010-2011 Outstanding GSI Award for excellence in teaching is awarded to Ya-Wen Lei.
2010-2011 Graduate Student Mentor Award recognizes a student who shows exceptional dedication and skill in mentoring their peers throughout their years at Michigan. The winner of this award was nominated by the students and selected by the Sociology Graduate Students (SGS) Co-Chairs with support from the Department. This year's awardee is Zakiya Luna.
