Science Learning Center

In her capacity as Associate Director, Science Learning Center (SLC), Stephanie provides leadership to the Academic Programs Team which encompasses both the Study Group and Tutoring programs.  She serves on the SLC Leadership Team which coordinates efforts to demonstrate the SLC’s impact on advancing student success, advocate for departmental needs, and facilitate continued professional development for professional staff.  She is responsible for fostering effective relationships with campus partners including faculty of supported courses, the Newnan Advising Center, Comprehensive Studies Program, and the Women in Science & Engineering Program (WISE).  Stephanie also oversees the Science Success Series, which provides workshops relevant to undergraduate students in STEM fields.   

Stephanie earned her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel from Kent State University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Applied Statistics from Grand Valley State University.  Stephanie has attained National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA) Learning Center Leadership Certification, Level Three and serves on the NCLCA Board of Directors as Recording Secretary.  Before coming to Michigan in 2019, Stephanie was Director of the Academic Success Center at Kent State University where she provided leadership to the University Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, Academic Coaching, and Study Skills initiatives for the 23,000+ undergraduate students on the Kent campus.  Prior to that, she served as an Academic Advisor for the Exploratory Advising Center at Kent State University and as an Extension Educational Consultant for Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority.
