We know international experience is highly valued by employers and grad schools. However, some students believe scheduling difficulties and program requirements make study and research abroad impossible for those with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) majors.

This workshop will offer the perspectives of 10-15 UM students with STEM majors who have successfully participated in research and study abroad opportunities.  Using a “speed dating” format, the workshop is designed to give first hand student accounts of the benefits and challenges of these opportunities.

In addition, staff from the the Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) and the International Center will provide a brief overview of their services and how they can support you.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the LSA Newnan Academic Advising Center, the Science Learning Center (SLC) and the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE).

Registration is required.
