About the sweatshirt
The new edition of the General Baker sweatshirt was released in conjunction with Semester in Detroit's 10th Anniversary. The front of the sweatshirt features small logos of Semester in Detroit and the General Baker Institute (GBI). The General Baker Institute is an educational nonprofit organization inspired by the life of the late General Gordon Baker, Jr. The back of the sweatshirt features a portrait of Gen painted by artist Nicole MacDonald for her Black Bottom/Paradise Valley Portrait Series. Beneath the portrait, the text reads:
Our task is to make thinkers out of fighters and fighters out of thinkers.
-General Baker, Jr. (1941-2014)
The sweatshirt is available in full-zip or pullover hoodie styles.
Where does the money go?
