Everybody's talking about Detroit. Let's focus the conversation.
Join Raquel Castaneda-Lopez, City Councilwoman of Detroit District 6, James Tate, City Councilman of Detroit District 1, and Sarida Scott, Executive Director of Community Development Advocates of Detroit, for a discussion about the new governing structure of city council in this truly unprecedented political moment in the city.
Craig Regester, Semester in Detroit Associate Director, will moderate this evening's discussion.
Be sure to peek at these resources before the event:
1) Overview of new Detroit district map (great interactive guide to the current 7 districts in Detroit)
2) Description of District 6 now represented by Raquel Casteneda-Lopez.
3) Description of District 1 now represented by James Tate
4) CDAD Webpage describing Community Advisory Councils
5) CDAD presentation on Community Advisory Councils
**Transportation between Ann Arbor and Detroit will leave East Quad at 5:30pm. Seats may be reserved by emailing SID Associate Director Craig Regester at [email protected]**
