For the 2016 Spring and Summer academic terms, the LSA Scholarship Office awarded a total of $364,399, a $249,949 increase from last year’s Spring and Summer awarding. Students not only received funding for their on-campus LSA classes, but also received support for their off-campus LSA classes, such as the Biological Station, New England Literature Program, Camp Davis, and Semester in Detroit.

The LSA Scholarship Office introduced Spring and Summer funding in 2015 in recognition that many students still have financial need in their Spring and Summer terms. Since Spring and Summer classes are not required for students to finish their degrees, the Office of Financial Aid is often unable to fully package students for those terms. In turn, the LSA Scholarship Office strives to enhance students’ financial aid packages to the best of its ability to potentially meet the cost of attendance that Financial Aid is unable to cover.
