We know that financial circumstances can change year by year. That's why our Returning Student Scholarship is a flexible funding option for current LSA students with financial need. Award amounts vary based on each student's individual financial situation, and you can apply for a scholarship every single year. So, no matter what transpires this year or next, our Returning Student Scholarship has you covered.

Read below to learn more about eligibility, deadlines, and our application process.

What does the scholarship cover?

The Returning Student Scholarship covers educational expenses such as tuition, room and board, and textbooks.

Amounts and Duration

The Returning Student Scholarship is based on a student's financial need and can range anywhere from $1000 to $15,000 per year. These awards are non-renewable, but you can (and should!) apply for them every year.

Application Deadline

The application for returning students opens on January 1st and closes on June 1st. Applicants will receive notifications on a rolling basis and will be notified no later than September 8.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for an LSA Returning Student Scholarship, a student:

  • Must be an undergraduate currently enrolled full-time and pursuing a degree program (or MDDP) in the College of LSA.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (i.e. possess a green card).
  • Must apply for and receive need-based support through the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Must have a FAFSA and CSS profile on file with the Office of Financial Aid (OFA) and must renew their FAFSA annually.

How do I apply?
