Guest Artists @ SAC

Screen Arts & Cultures invites leading screenwriters, filmmakers, directors, animators, and experimental and media artists to share their experiences and insights with our SAC majors through lectures, workshops, and discussions. Our guest artists give our majors an extraordinary opportunity to hear about the intricacies of the industry from a variety of perspectives.

When Tom McCarthy won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for SPOTLIGHT in 2015, he became the Screenwriting Program's 8th visiting artist to win for either Best Original or Best Adapted Screenplay. Four of those screenplays, including SPOTLIGHT, would result in Best Picture Awards as well. In total, 18 visiting artists have been nominated for one or more Screenwriting Academy Awards.
