About
I hold a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and Italian from Trinity College in Hartford. I taught English for two years in Jaen, Spain and Spanish at a public high school in Connecticut for four years. I have a longstanding interest in immigration, whether Italian immigration in Argentina, Latin American immigration in Connecticut, or African immigration in Europe. I acquired my knowledge of Wolof by living within the Senegalese community in Jaen. I plan to focus my doctoral research on immigration and how migrants are viewed by the host country, particularly sub-Saharan Africans in Spain.
