About
My research interests have to do with transatlantic issues regarding twentieth-century Spanish and Latin American literature. So far my research has focused on Peruvian modernism and avant-garde. I have particularly addressed those middle-class authors who lived during the era of Peruvian economic and industrial development and whose works and political concerns contributed to the configuration of a new Peruvian identity. I am interested in exploring the connections between literature and politics as well as the representations of memory and cultural identity through literature, and now I seek to address such topics from a transatlantic point of view. I am also eager to learn about new approaches to phenomena that involve discourses other than literature, such as cinema and mass media.
