About
I studied philosophy in Chile and completed a MA thesis about the relationship between Machiavelli, realistic ontology, and political philosophy. Currently I am interested in the relations and intersections between the concept of "republic" and the literature and Hispanic thought of early modern Iberia (the so-called marranismo but, also, the Arabic falsafa in Andalusia and the Golden Age), as well as Latin American literature. Related to these themes, I am interested in thinking through the possibilities of a plebeian republic, república plebeya, and its relation with various components of contemporary political thought such as materialism, conjuncture or conjunction, post-hegemony and infrapolitics. I write regularly for the Latin American magazine Demarcaciones and my work on Machiavelli will be published by the Chilean-Argentine publishing house Doble Ciencia.
