Ana Guimarães

I received my B.A. in Portuguese and English language & literature from Universidade de Pernambuco in Brazil. I have earned a Master's degree in Hispanic literature & cultural studies from the University of Arizona. I am an alumna of the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistantship program where I taught Portuguese at Pitzer College, CA. I have also worked as a Portuguese instructor in language schools in Mexico, and Colombia. Currently, I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Romance Languages & Literatures. My research interests include testimonial narratives, everyday life, urban experiences, and the intersection of political economy and cultural texts in the Americas.
