About
I came from Chile to study my Ph. D. at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which I finished by 2003. After that I worked at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville until recently. This fall (2015) I became a faculty member at the University of Michigan where I am currently teaching Latin American modern and contemporary poetry at the undergraduate level, and Latin American Marxism, at the graduate level.
My research focuses mainly in literary, visual and cultural forms and practices of imagination in Latin American modern and contemporary history. I develop an interdisciplinary approach to cultural and aesthetical phenomena with a theoretical emphasis informed by continental philosophy and psychoanalysis.
