Peggy McCracken is an Anna Julia Cooper Distinguished University Professor of Medieval French Literature, the Director of the Institute for Humanities, Mary Fair Crourshore Professor of the Humanities, French, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Comparative Literature. Her research interests include medieval literature, history, and theory. Some of her publications explore the relationships between dominion and mastery through the interactions between humans and animals, medieval theories, practices of queenship, and gendered values.
