Congratulations, Julie Evershed, longtime supporter of the Romance Languages and Literatures Department, for winning the 2024 Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award (DDLA). The award celebrates staff working to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive working environment. It is intended to highlight staff who embrace the value of diversity and recognize how it helps the University of Michigan.Julie Evershed is the Director of the Language Resource Center. Working for over twenty years at the University of Michigan’s Language Resource Center (LRC), she is an advocate for multilingualism and inclusivity. Julie has led many projects at U-M, including the LRC’s Language Bank and the annual Translate-a-thon translation marathon. Additionally, she is an active member of the International Association of Language Learning Technology, the Michigan World Language Association, and the Big Ten Language Alliance.
