About
Steven Pokornowski is a lecturer at the University of Michigan. He holds a PhD and an MA in English from University of California, Santa Barbara, and a BALAS in English and Psychology from University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Originally from the south side of Chicago, Steven's research focuses on othering, violence, and biomedical history and language. He has published on the cultural politics of contagion, violence, and zombies. He is currently working on an academic publication on history of biopolitics and several short-form creative works. He spends most of his free time with a fat cat, a skinny cat, a neurotic dog, and a loving puppy.
