RC Graduation 2021

Please join us in celebrating the Residential College Class of 2021!

Our virtual graduation ceremony is open to all students, alumni, friends and family. The link to join the YouTube Live event will be posted HERE the day of the event, May 1, so come back then!

Following the ceremony around 3pm, there will be an afterglow for the graduates and the faculty and staff of the RC. A link to that will be sent to those groups ahead of time.

To the graduating seniors: First of all, congratulations on (almost) completing your undergrad journey! We're sorry that your last undergraduate year/semester has not been what you probably dreamed it would be, and the same may be true about how you're feeling about having a virtual  graduation. Some of you may know that RC Commencement features very important keynote speakers every year: the RC Grads themselves! Every RC Grad traditionally has 1 MINUTE at the mic to say, do, act, sing, thank, perform, or whatever else they want. As you can imagine, this tradition lends itself to us being able to say, with full confidence, that we have the BEST graduation ceremony on campus, even in the virtual world-- we don't want to let a pandemic get in the way of that!

So: if you wish to participate in this tradition of "The RC Minute", you have until end of day Sunday April 18th to record or put together a video of yourself (no longer than 1 minute total) for the virtual RC Commencement  Ceremony (which will be publicly live-streamed).

In the past (including in last year's virtual ceremony), RC Grads have "pooled" or combined their minutes with other graduates as well. More instructions will be coming in the next few weeks about how to submit your videos, but we wanted to give you plenty of notice so you can start dreaming about your RC Minute now! We'll be sending out plenty of reminders and inspiration as the weeks go on as well. I'm already excited to see what you come up with!
