The Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) program at the University of Michigan is a new interdisciplinary initiative for scholars of the social sciences who use quantitative methods to answer questions of societal importance in their research and teaching.

QMSS is searching for full-time lecturers beginning immediately to teach courses starting in Fall Term 2020 and beyond.  These positions will form the core of our undergraduate curriculum. In particular, we are looking for instructors with experience in developing and delivering both didactic and hands-on experiential learning to undergraduate students with a wide range of statistic and mathematic backgrounds.

The lecturers will teach six courses equivalents per year, with approximately 50% of their course equivalents assigned to individualized and/or small group instruction, and advising for students pursuing the minor in QMSS. These are not tenure-track positions and they will be appointed on a University-Year (9-month) basis. The initial appointment will be for three years (six academic year semesters), with additional opportunities to develop courses and/or lead student learning throughout the spring/summer terms each year.
