Academic Advising

Psychology Academic Advisors are available to meet with you not only to discuss courses and academic planning, but also to talk about your current goals, future aspirations and personal experiences. Although the Psychology Department is the largest department at the University of Michigan, it is our goal to make your undergraduate career within psychology as fulfilling and meaningful as possible.

An Academic Advisor can talk with you about:

  • Major Release (graduation paperwork/audit)
  • Making substitutions to your prerequisite or program courses
  • Discussing transfer/abroad credit evaluations
  • Figuring out how best to prepare yourself for graduate school
  • Explain how to address academic difficulties in a timely manner

New! Virtual Advising Appointments

Are you off-campus? Live far away? Ill? Have children? Working full time? If for ANY reason you are unable to be on campus to meet with an advisor in person, consider a Virtual Advising appointment! Talk to your advisor face-to-face using Google Meet. Google Meet helps you to establish a more personal connection with your advisor, and allows your advisor to share their screen with you, so you can see the resources they are discussing and easily follow along. Students must have a laptop/computer or tablet/smartphone, and stable wifi access.

To schedule a Virtual Advising appointment, you must CALL our office at 734-764-2580. Please do not use the scheduling button above.
