About
As a social and cultural psychologist, I am driven by a desire to use empirical research to understand and solve real world inequalities. Broadly, my research explores cultural, social, institutional, and interpersonal processes that perpetuate racial, gender, and social class disparities. I strive to expand psychological theory and knowledge while also taking my work into the real world. As such, I work in interdisciplinary and cross-sector teams with researchers and practitioners. Together, we design, implement, and test interventions to create inclusive and equitable educational systems, and we document and challenge the ways in which individuals justify discrimination against marginalized groups, including women, people from lower socioeconomic status backgrounds, and Indigenous Peoples. Across all of my work, I aim to give voice to experiences that are often overlooked in society and in psychology and to produce meaningful change for people who have been disadvantaged within powerful social institutions.
