About
Dr. Suzuki is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University in 2019, completed his clinical internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Suzuki’s general research interest is in better characterizing and understanding the processes that underlie various forms of psychopathology within broad transdiagnostic dimensional frameworks. To this end, he employs a multi-method approach (e.g., questionnaires, EEG, ecological momentary assessment), utilizes advanced statistical techniques, and leverages the Five-Factor Model of general personality. His current research program focuses on understanding the emotional and social processes in relatively chronic forms of psychopathology, including personality disorders and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. The overarching goal of his research is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of research, assessment, prevention, and treatment of psychopathology. Dr. Suzuki is a licensed psychologist and is providing evidence-based clinical care to patients, training and supervising practicum students, and postdoctoral fellows.
