About
Hyeon-Young Ro (Young) is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on the inflow of different types of foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic FDI regulations set by the host-governments. She is especially interested in how domestic firms' preferences shape the government's inward FDI policies, and how these policies, in turn, influence the foreign firms’ market entry strategies. Before joining the Ph.D. program, Young worked in various institutions, including the Embassy of the United States in South Korea and the Korea Institute for National Unification.
