Noah Nathan is Associate Professor of Political Science and a Faculty Associate at the Center for Political Studies and Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies. His research focuses on urbanization, political behavior, clientelism, and state-building in new democracies in Africa. His first book, Electoral Politics and Africa’s Urban Transition: Class and Ethnicity in Ghana (Cambridge University Press), examines electoral competition in urban Africa. His new book project explores the long-run legacies of state-building in rural hinterland regions. He completed his PhD at Harvard University’s Department of Government in 2016.
