The Physics Departments has available funding for declared Physics undergraduate majors or minors the opportunity to attend conferences, present posters, give talks, and participate in other research-related travel opportunities.
- An eligible undergraduate student may receive up to $500 per academic year.
- Students must first request funds from advisor, research group, or other sources of funding.
- The Department of Physics cannot guarantee funding for all expenses.
- Funds are provided on a rolling basis.
- Applicants must be declared Physics majors or minors in good academic standing.
- Funds for per diem food and rental cars will not be provided.
- Funds are required to be requested at least two weeks before the conference. No application will be considered for funding retroactively.
If you are given funding, your award will be credited to your account through Wolverine Access. If your account is already fully covered by financial aid (grants, scholarships, loans), the award may reduce the balance of your loans or other aid. Occasionally, awards are credited without proper adjustments, resulting in an improper check or deposit to the student. If this happens, you may be asked by Student Financial Services to return the full amount.
If you are unsure about the impacts that receiving funding may have on your financial aid package, you can reach out to the Office of Financial Aid to discuss your individual situation.
