LIFE AFTER GRAD SCHOOL SEMINAR<br>A Career in Industry

Friday, April 18, 2014
12:00 AM
335 West Hall

Dr. Thomas A. Perry works in the Manufacturing Systems Research Lab at General Motor's Research & Development Center.

As an alumni of the University of Michigan Physics department with 29 years of experience in industrial research, I would like to share with students some insight into what working for working for one of the largest corporations in the world that hires physicists is like. I will discuss many of the projects that I have worked on and highlight where my academic background was directly relevant and where lifelong learning was necessary to fill gaps. I will try to keep the presentation and prepared remarks to a minimum, leaving time for more dialog on questions and concerns students have on whether a career in industry might be a good choice for them.

Life After Grad School seminar listings for Winter 2014.

Speaker:
Dr. Thomas A. Perry (GM Research & Development Center)
