HEP-Astro Seminar | Jet Quantum Imaging of the Nucleus and Next-Generation Calorimeters at the Electron-Ion Collider

I will outline the key scientific goals achievable at the future Electron-Ion Collider through the analysis of particle jets, with a focus on quantum imaging of the nucleus. Particle jets offer a novel discovery tool for studying electron scattering off polarized protons and heavy nuclei. These studies require a new generation of highly granular calorimeter systems, whose capabilities can be fully exploited only with AI/ML approaches. I will present ongoing R&D efforts, along with plans for prototype testing and construction in the near future.
