On this November 27th, you can make a difference through gifts to The Prison Creative Arts Project (PCAP). Our mission is to bring those impacted by the justice system and the U-M community into artistic collaboration for mutual learning and growth.
Gifts go to the 24th Annual Exhibition of Art by Michigan Prisoners, which aims to help incarcerated citizens become artists, to bring their work into the public realm in order to humanize prisoners in the eyes of the general public, and to connect students and community members directly to the effect of mass incarceration and the power of art as a sustaining force. The exhibition shows 600 artworks by more than 500 artists incarcerated in Michigan each year and attracts over 3,600 individual visits.
